Funny Thing Happened

Funny thing happened
on the road to diversity
I was stopped for driving black

but everything asked for
was available
nothin was showing lack.

Oddest stuff comes up
when I take a forward step.
Requirements change again
As if doing that time
I had slept.

Strange things happen
on the way to diversity
Always a needed flaw

Even if I say not a word
am accused of many ills
Tho silent was both
my mouth and my jaw.

Not one iota of relief
the lie keeps on growing
As if accuzations were just for me
yet, I am the one in the knowing.

I gotta be a comedian
to deal with these tales of woe.
Ignorance shows its face
no matter where it is I go.

Had to chuckle in the knowing
got enough to teach the whole class.
