Ignorance Prevails

Ignorance prevails
in the mind of a fool
who reads not or studies
but think its cool

Fast to say that others
are wrong to step beyond
the label of ordinary
all else is a junk bond

I see the fool by the road
refusing rides from folks
who disagree with him
a total cog in the spokes

See the world thru
tinted colors to say the least
anything which makes sense
is to the fool a beast

Refusing to see the world
thru facts and figures plain
Reality to them is not a plan
something no one can explain

Reality passes by, always
yet never really reach the point
the fool misses the whole thing
as if forever stoned on a joint.

The fool gets forever angry
snaps when others see what he can't
and goes to his best defense
just start to raving and a rant

Goes berserk when thoughts
are not within a neat box
to gain a supposed advantage
drunk from fallen from rocks

A really sad note and a shame
ignorance breeds even more
won't allow anything else to reach
into that hidden store

If they dont know then it aint so
nothing is allowed in an empty space
when they close up and ignore facts
reality presented to their face.

Then they question reality
it suspends out in the air
not touching the rest of us
it simply dangles there.

Another obvious foolish trait
is to hang on to a dying part
no reasoning to make sense
just clutching with all their heart

Its said all the world is a stage
we should all play a roll
but the fool hangs on to ignorance
as if never had paid a toll.

When one points out a truth
from evidence spread in front
they ignore the facts of all of it
and insert a blocking shunt.

The fool blames the world
everyone else for their falls
Never allowing a thought
beyond their limited calls

What makes it more a damn shame
when the fool happens to be Black
they help to defeat the rest of us
by helping to hold us all back.

Wallowing in abstract ignorance
the fool keeps a real closed mind
and their lack of openess
is a killer of the worst kind.

I reached out to a fool
tried to love and respect
but the emptiness prevailed
and all was a total reject.

The fool I tried to reach
wants to run over seas
when they do that country will say,
"go back, please".

The simplest of thoughts
is only good enough
any mental computation
is tragically rough

As much as I wanted
to serve up a loving hand
that fool clings to ignorance
in a closed mental land.

So I'll respect the position
set out my colorful sails
just accept in the mind of a fool
"Ignorance Prevails."
