I Present To You
You used to wonder
if you had all of me
and tho I said you did
I held back, you see.
Always felt the need
to hide a part on the shelf
just in case, whatever
to save a bit of myself.
These years seemed
to just fly by so fast.
You were my beginning
and apparently my last.
I present to you
that part no longer hid.
You promised unrelentling love;
here I am because you did.

You held back that part
I needed most
And now you brag
And "now" you boast.
That tiny piece
That part of self
Lost it's life
Upon the shelf.
'Tis no longer yours to share
'Tis gone
With all the fare
'Twas just a pawn -
No longer there ...
Oh Spencer, this one touched my soul!
Hugs,
T
Well then we must all give thanks to God for unrelenting love, your poems are beautiful. I look forward to each time I am able to log on and find a new one waiting patiently for my eyes to feast upon it.
